Are you passionate about early childhood education and looking to advance your career in Washington State? The Child Care Basics 30-hour course, offered by Olympic College, is your essential first step. This foundational course is meticulously designed to meet the licensing requirements for lead teachers in Washington, providing you with the crucial State Training and Registry System (STARS) credit necessary for professional growth.

Developed through the collaborative efforts of Early Learning experts across Washington and drawing upon extensive Early Childhood Education resources, the Child Care Basics curriculum is comprehensive and relevant. Olympic College understands the needs of working professionals, which is why we offer this vital course in a flexible online format for 3 college credits.

For those specifically seeking STARS credit without the need for college credit, Olympic College also provides a non-credit online option twice a year. Our next non-credit online course begins in September. To enroll, you’ll need to register as an Olympic College student and ensure you can log in to your student account – this login is your gateway to accessing the online course materials and participating fully. This course is structured solely to award STARS credit, acknowledging your commitment to professional development in early childhood education.

Beyond the foundational Child Care Basics course, Olympic College is dedicated to supporting your ongoing professional journey. We offer a range of STARS-approved continuing education workshops throughout the year. Due to limited space in these popular workshops, we encourage you to call 360-475-7625 to confirm availability and secure your spot. Please note that workshops with fewer than 10 participants may be subject to cancellation. Stay tuned for our Fall schedule of STARS Approved Continuing Education Workshops, designed to further enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
