The primary motivation for building these drive-on ramps was to gain sufficient clearance for upgrades, specifically header installation on a 5.7L engine. Even using high-reach race ramps combined with stacked 2x12s proved inadequate and still induced a sense of unease. The ramps were designed to overcome these limitations, providing ample space for header work, exhaust modifications, oil changes, and other routine maintenance. Unlike relying on a potentially unstable aluminum car jack and jack stands, these ramps offer a drive-on, worry-free approach to car elevation.
